I continue to find it strange how I am rediscovering music from the 80s. For so long I associated it with teenage angst. But once there's some distance, I can appreciate it again. Sort of like children's books.
Indeed. & it is a genuine appreciation beyond simple nostalgia.

Well, it can't be nostalgia if I'm not keen on remembering the times when I first heard the music.
For instance: The Smiths. I was a moody little wreck when I first heard this album about 20 years ago. But now, listening to that 20-year-old dubbed cassette tape in my car, I can appreciate the music rather than the angst of some of the lyrics.
