Garden update: raspberries (unknown, summer-bearing variety), strawberries (sparkle), basil, eggplant (three varieties: classic, Japanese, fingerling), tomatoes (too many varieties to enumerate), bell peppers (too many varieties), hot peppers (habanero, jalapeno, Thai hot), squash (patty pan and crookneck), zucchini, cucumber (slicer), nasturtiums, thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary. That about covers it.

Found the mother lode of heirloom tomatoes at a nearby roadside stand. He was propagating his own varieties and had every conceivable heirloom variety imaginable. Some highlights: ivory egg, Cherokee purple, Aunt Ruby's green German, rose de berne, lemon drop, and others.
