Time Enough At Last

"Witness Mr. Henry Bemis, a charter member in the fraternity of dreamers. A bookish little man whose passion is the printed page but who is conspired against by a bank president and a wife and a world full of tongue-cluckers and the unrelenting hands of a clock. But in just a moment Mr. Bemis will enter a world without bank presidents or wives or clocks or anything else. He'll have a world all to himself - without anyone."

Hey, I saw that episode a few times. An now, wait a minute, turns out Burgess also played the role of my namesake in the Rocky flicks. This is all too much to take in...

in no particular order:

"it's a good life"
the kid is one sadistic meaney. and the phrase, 'send 'em to the cornfield' is a pemanent part of my family's lexicon.

'five characters in search of an exit'
absolutely brilliant, shocking and horrible.

'to serve man'
dee-licious!

and one i can't recall the title. about an old woman who keeps getting staticy phone calls which freaks her out. at the end we discover the source of the calls is a downed telephone line over the grave, i think, of her dead husband. spooky!

Richard,
The last episode you describe sounds like Night Call.
